Jonathan Emillian Heck is a freelance composer, violinist and actor. At the age of 6 he received his first violin lessons, a little later trumpet is added as his second instrument.
During his school years at the humanistically oriented boarding school Birklehof he played in various youth orchestras, chamber and jazz ensembles and finally discovered his interest in acting at the Theater Freiburg.
After graduating from high school at the European Theatre Institute in Berlin – while taking composition and violin lessons and playing in concerts in New York, China and Europe.
Since 2016 he has been an actor in productions such as “The Abduction from the Seraglio” (Schlossoper Haldenstein), “Romeo and Juliet” and “Twelfe Night, Or what you will” directed by Thomas Bading and “Gebrüder Grimm” at the boulevard Theater Dresden.
Increasingly, he developed the urge to create himself and published his first compositions.
While his Violin Concerto No. 1 premieres in 2018, his ballet composition “Deus Ex Machina” (International Ballet Gala Dortmund 2019) for the Staatsballett dance Alexander Abdukarimov and his work for orchestra and choir “Totengesang” (2019) follow in London. In addition to chamber music compositions, his violin concerto will be revived by dancers of the Neumeier Ballet 2020 (cancelled due to the Carona Crisis).
Since 2019 he has been signed as a violinist with the Sony Klassik label and is a permanent member of the Fabia Mantwill Orchestra.
Since 2020 he is working closely with the Stiftung Mozarteum Salzburg on his ballet opera PHILOMELA.
