French born, Dorothée Gilbert in an Étoile with the Ballet de l’Opéra de Paris and trained at the Conservatoire de region de Toulouse. Dorothée’s awards include Prix du public de l’AROP in 2002, Prix du Cercle Carpeaux 2004, Prix Ballet 2000 (Cannes) 2006, Prix Léonide Massine (Positano, Italy) 2006 and Récompense du ministère de la culture Française: Chevalier des arts et des lettres in 2014. Her repertoire includes roles such as Nykia and Gamzatti in La Bayadère, Odette/Odile in Le Lan des cygnes, Cendrillon in Cendrillon, Kitri in Don Quichotte, Clara in Casse-Noisette, Raymonda in Raymonda and Juliette in Roméo et Juliette (Rudolf Nureyev), Tatiana in Onegin (John Cranko), Giselle in Giselle (Coralli et Perrot), Lise in La Fille mal Gardée (Frederik Ashton), Principal roles in Concerto Barocco, Emeralds and Rubies in Jewels, Tchaikovsky – Pas de deux, the Four Tempéraments, Apollo – Musagète, Who Cares, Theme and Variations (Balanchine), L’Étoile in Etudes (Lander), Juliette in Romeo and Juliette (Patrice Bart), Manon Lescaut and Prudence in La Dame aux camélias, L’ange in 3ème Symphonie de Mahler and the creation of le chant de le terre (John Neumeier), Pas./parts, Artifact Suite, The Vertigineous Thrill of Exactitude (William Forsythe), Neages, Bella Figura and Tar and Feathers (Jiří Kylián), Triade and Amoveo (Benjamin Millepied), Psyché in Psyché (Alexei Ratmanski) and La Ballerine in The Concert, En Sol, les variations golberg and In the Night (Jerome Robbins). Dorothée has also been involved in creations such as Mi Favorita (José Martinez), André Auria (Edouard Lock), O’Zlozony / O Composite (Trisha Brown), Genus and Anatomie de la sensation (Wayne McGregor), Donizetti-Suite (Manuel Legris), Tristan Iseult (Giorgoe Manchini) and Le Chant de la terre (John Neumeier). Throughout her career she has also participated in numerous international ballet galas and tours in the USA, Brasil, Russia, Japan, Australia, Cuba and China.
